What is DIN?

DIN stands for Director Identification Number. It is a unique 8-digit number assigned by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to every individual who is appointed as a director of an Indian company.

DIN was introduced under Section 153 of the Companies Act, 2013 to create a centralized database of all directors in India.
