What is Fresh MCA Data?
Fresh MCA data refers to registration records processed from the previous day's filings at the Registrar of Companies (ROC). The word "fresh" means the company was registered within the last 24 hours — before the record gets buried among millions of older filings.
This matters because timing is everything in B2B outreach. A company registered yesterday is setting up bank accounts, hiring vendors, choosing software, and signing service contracts *right now*. Once a few weeks pass, those decisions are already made. Fresh MCA data is therefore the most actionable form of company data available in India.
Field-by-Field Breakdown
A daily MCA CSV contains many columns. Below is a plain-English explanation of each one so you know exactly what you're working with.
CIN / LLPIN
The Corporate Identity Number (CIN) is a 21-character unique identifier assigned at incorporation. Its format encodes useful information:
Example: `U72900MH2024PTC123456` tells you it's an unlisted IT services company registered in Maharashtra in 2024.
For LLPs, the equivalent identifier is the LLPIN (LLP Identification Number), which follows a similar encoding logic.
Company / LLP Name
The registered legal name of the entity. This must be unique — the ROC rejects applications that duplicate an existing name or are too similar to one. The name often includes a suffix like *Private Limited*, *Limited*, or *LLP* that tells you the structure at a glance.
Date of Registration
The date the Certificate of Incorporation was issued by the ROC. This is the official day the company came into legal existence. It is usually formatted as DD/MM/YYYY in the CSV.
Registered Address
The official registered office address filed with the MCA. This is where all legal notices and government correspondence are sent. Keep in mind that this may differ from the operational address where the team actually works — many founders register at an accountant's or agent's office initially.
State
The Indian state where the company is registered. This is one of the most useful fields for geographic targeting. If you only sell in Karnataka, you can filter the CSV to keep only Karnataka companies. See new company data for state-wise filtering.
City
The city parsed from the registered address. Useful for hyper-local outreach — for example, targeting only companies in Pune or Coimbatore.
Pin Code
The 6-digit postal code. Combining state + city + pin code lets you build highly localized campaigns, which is valuable for businesses like office furniture suppliers or local IT service providers.
Category
The broad company type: Private Limited, Public Limited, or OPC (One Person Company). This single field tells you the governance structure and, often, the seriousness of the venture.
Sub-Category
A further classification such as *Non-govt company*, *Subsidiary of a foreign company*, or *Guarantee company*. This helps you understand ownership and backing — for instance, a subsidiary of a foreign company may already have funding and processes in place.
Class of Company
Class I, II, or III — based on paid-up capital thresholds. This is a rough proxy for company size at the time of registration.
Authorised Capital
The maximum capital the company is legally permitted to raise through share issuance, stated in INR. A high authorised capital signals ambition and scale, even if nothing has been paid in yet.
Paid-Up Capital
The capital actually paid by shareholders. This is a stronger indicator of real funding than authorised capital. A company with ₹10 lakh paid-up capital has genuinely received that money, whereas authorised capital is just a ceiling.
Business Activity Description
A text description derived from the NIC (National Industry Classification) code filed at registration. This tells you what the company does — for example, "Software consultancy and supply" or "Manufacture of pharmaceuticals." This field is critical for industry filtering and is often the single most important column for targeting.
Company Email Address
The email filed with the MCA at the time of registration. This is the primary contact method for outreach. Note that some founders use an agent's email or a generic address initially, so response rates vary.
Director Names
The names of all directors (for companies) or designated partners (for LLPs) at the time of registration. These are the decision-makers you want to reach.
Director DIN
The Director Identification Number is a unique 8-digit identifier assigned to each director. Because a director can sit on multiple boards, the DIN lets you run background checks and discover other companies the same person is involved with. Learn more in our guide on what is DIN and how to find director information.
Director Mobile Numbers (Premium)
Phone numbers of the directors themselves — a direct line to decision-makers. This field is available only on Email + Phone plans. A phone call to a founding director is almost always more effective than a cold email.
Why Each Field Matters for Lead Generation
Each column serves a specific purpose in your workflow:
Treat the CSV as a targeting toolkit rather than a flat list — the value comes from combining filters.
Data Quality and Accuracy
MCA data is government-sourced, which makes it authoritative. However, keep a few caveats in mind:
None of these issues make the data unusable, but they do mean you should verify before treating any single field as ground truth.
